Independent Bookshop Week 2024

June 15th to June 22nd

We have several events running this year to celebrate Independent Bookshop Week.

Our first event is on Saturday 15th June 10am to 12 Noon Local author Sheila Hutchinson will be in the shop signing her local history books two of which have just been reprinted having been out of print for several years. Sheila was brought up at Berney Arms and her books cover the areas of Haddiscoe, Reedham, Berney Arms, Wickhampton, Halvergate, Moulton St Mary and Freethorpe we are hoping that in the future she will reprint her book on Burgh Castle. Over the years many articles on Sheila's books have appeared in the Eastern Daily Press.

Our Second Event is 12Noon to 2pm on Monday 17th June when local author Lord Russell Baker will be in the shop signing his Autobiography. Lord Russell is a character and his visit should be very interesting.

Our Third Event is on 22nd June 11am to 1pm when Heather Peck a local author from Ormesby will be in the shop this coincides with the publications of her two new books one is another of her children's books which she promised to write when doing a school visit for World Book Day. The other is the 6th Title in her Norfolk Detective Series featuring DCI Greg Geldard. Heather will not only be signing her new titles but also her other titles all of which we keep in stock.

Alongside these events we also have two promotions running.

Sunday 16th June will will be open 9am to 1pm. It is Father's day bring Dad in and buy him a book and we will discount the price by 10%. You can call us beforehand and order the book to make sure we have it in stock and available but orders need to be in by Wednesday 12th June at 4pm.

The Whole Week 15th to 22nd June, 2024 we will donate 10% of our sales on local history books to Norfolk Family History Society to help with the incredible work they do.
